Éva Perpék PhD is a research fellow at the Children’s Opportunities Research Group of the ELTE Centre for Social Sciences. She holds degrees in sociology, social policy and economics. She studied abroad at the University of Trento (Italy) and MGIMO University (Russia). She obtained her PhD in sociology from Corvinus University of Budapest in 2013. Her main research areas are children’s family and institutional developmental environments and needs, the promotion of equal opportunities for children, the relationships between mental health, working conditions and health among human service professionals.

She has taken part in numerous Hungarian and international projects. As principal investigator she coordinated a Hungarian–Croatian comparative study on the compensation of children’s disadvantages and on the development and social professionals working with them (Perpék ed. 2020). For nine years she led a research project surveying children’s health, living conditions, institutional environment, demands and needs, in the framework of which she coordinated altogether 41 district-level representative questionnaire surveys. The study paid particular attention to both the school and the family environment. Within this, she carried out analyses among school-age children on the relationship between the home educational environment and school performance (Perpék–Fekete 2016). She has also gained experience in questionnaire research among university students (Perpék–Győri–Lengyel 2021; Győri–Lengyel–Perpék 2020). All this experience, together with her research findings on the mental health and working conditions of human service professionals (Győri–Perpék–Ádám 2025; Győri–Perpék 2025; Győri–Perpék 2022; Győri et al. 2025), greatly contributes to the work of the MTA-ELTE TK School and Health Research Group.
